Daniel shares with us his testimony…

Then, Daniel defined himself as a quiet, proud and angry person.
His life = a mess.
“Before I accepted Christ, I was a free thinker who would just go with my parents to offer incense for my grandparents. My life was in a mess. I was a very quiet person and listens to whatever my parents say. My parents sent me to Christian school, but always told me that God is not true. So I didn’t believe. In my secondary school days, when I am angry, I would scream at my friends in school, spit at them on some occasions, and even fight. Back at home, I always quarrelled, shouted and fought with my brother. I was quite a proud person.”

Daniel defined himself as a rude, proud and results-oriented person.
His life = full of meaningless striving.
“After I accepted Christ at the end of Sec. 4, I was still a person filled with selfish ambition – wanting to do well in examinations, wanting to succeed in my track and field competitions. At that time, my mum objected me to go to church. In my JC days, I wanted to succeed and was very proud person, and even scolded vulgarities. I attended a 30-min long morning Christian assembly for 6 months. Although I liked singing the songs, it was just merely singing. Perhaps I did not have a personal encounter with Jesus back then.”

A friend’s persistence = a life transformed.
“Two months before my preliminary examinations, Wesley invited me to join their SAJC cell group just before track and field training. However, I rejected him. I wanted to do my own things and slack around. I did really badly for my preliminary examinations. Wesley invited me again for cell group. I started praying for my situation because I remembered that God said He will answer our prayers when we pray. I joined them for their gathering and enjoyed the worship. Later, I received Everyday with Jesus for New Christians, a devotional material to help me know God better. I prayed for peace during the examination period and asked God to take away my anxieties. Before every paper, I will pray with my classmates. It was amazing! Usually in major examinations like the O levels, I will be very anxious. But this time, I was filled with peace and I trusted God to lead me through every paper.”

Daniel REdefined himself – a thankful, hopeful and blessed person.
His life = in the hands of his Creator.
“After JC, I went into Basic Military Training (BMT) for my National Service. I was quite sad to go to Pulau Tekong. I missed everything back home. Then, I met two Christian friends who told me of their testimony - how they went through persecution from their parents and made a stand to go to church. Before collecting my A level results, I prayed to God for good results. When I received my results, I got 3As and a C6 for GP. I thank God that for hearing and answering my prayers. The results were a lot better than what I got for the preliminary examination. I gave my heart to Jesus in April 2005, a life totally changed thereafter."

If you’ve yet to come to accept Jesus as your friend, your personal Lord and Saviour, you’re missing out! Daniel’s life was transformed. Yours can too! Want to be different? Let Jesus give you a new definition!

If you are a Christian reading this testimony, I hope you are encouraged. Daniel had friends that persisted in bringing him to Christ, despite his rejection to their invitation. You may have faced rejection, but be strong and take heart! Continue to persevere, just like Daniel’s friends did. Take a step and invite them for the upcoming W.A.D Odd One Out!

Let's take a look at what happened behind the scene in preparing this set of figurines.

The process took us quite a fair bit of time. But I guess it was worth the effort.
And I believed the different one of us who were involved in making this possible enjoyed themselves thoroughly in the process.

The figurines were also displayed at outside our service hall on Sunday! Don't they look interesting?
